One day not too long ago, I saw the new movie Fight or Flight in a theater. Then the very next day, I saw another new film, Final Destination Bloodlines, also in a movie theater! So that’s two movies in two days about potential disasters and/or very real disasters. FoF mostly takes place on a plane, while the first FD is famous for its exploding plane. Here are a couple of quick lists of what I liked most about both of them:

Fight or Flight:
-Josh Hartnett and Charithra Chandran are number 1 and 2 on the call sheet: what a couple of cuties!
-The underlying message kinda gave me hope about society, weirdly enough
-Hughie O’Donnell played basically the greatest flight attendant ever
-The reveal about the true nature of Katee Sackhoff and the oily guy’s employment was pretty effective

Final Destination Bloodlines:
-Tony Todd delivered the most perfect cinematic goodbye ever
-Making the victims a family as opposed to the typical group of dopey young people really helped to make everything emotionally engaging and supportive
-This easily had the best evasive maneuvers of the whole series
-Brec Bassinger as young Iris fit right in to the 1960s milieu – she should play mid-century more often
-I’m now newly inspired to live life to the fullest before Death meets me!

Grades:
Fight or Flight: 7 Planes out of 10 Skies
Final Destination Bloodlines: 17 Deaths out of 23 Premonitions
