In this movie review roundup, I’m discussing films that were released in late 2025 but that I didn’t get around to seeing until early 2026. Since they arrived in theaters during the holiday season, I shall declare what Type of Present each of them was to me.
Song Sung Blue was the type of present that I didn’t know I needed and that made me cry a little bit.
No Other Choice was like a gift certificate to a spa that uses freezing cold therapy but it’s surprisingly therapeutic.
Is This Thing On? was like a book of jokes that kind of made me laugh but felt like it should’ve been categorized in the self-help section.
The Secret Agent was like a really complicated board game that takes much longer to play than you expected. Maybe like an international version of Guess Who? crossed with Secret Hitler.
The Testament of Ann Lee was like a toy that you think is going to have an infinite range of motions but turns out to have just a set range of options.
And finally, Train Dreams was one of those presents that you absolutely refuse to ever take out of the package.
