Watch And/Or Listen to This: Korn’s “Freak on a Leash”

1999 was an inexplicable time for rock. Nu metal was ascendant. At least “Bawitdaba” can be appreciated for its insanity, but we are all wondering what we were thinking with the “Nookie.” But Korn (of all bands) have actually stood the test of time. “Freak on a Leash” is a legitimately great song, and in 2015 it is still revealing its depth and power.

This is one of those songs that just goes on and on, and you just don’t want it stop, but to keep going on and on. Also, there’s a kid in the music video who looks like Putin.

You may have just seen this one on SNL. It might just be the best song of 2015. As for the video, it’s striking. (Partially NSFW.)

I saw this video on mtvU the other day. This band is not necessarily usually my sort of thing. It features visuals that remind me of the True Detective opening credits.

This video features a wrestling match between Shea Whigham, who you may know from Silver Linings Playbook or Take Shelter,  and Keith Stanfield, who you may know from Short Term 12 or Selma.
