Every week, I list all the upcoming (or recently released) movies, TV shows, albums, podcasts, etc. that I believe are worth checking out.

Movies
–Kraven the Hunter (Theaters)
–The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (Theaters)
–Nickel Boys (Theaters)

TV
–A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter (Streaming on Netflix) – This came out last week; I want to make sure I watch it before the end of 2024, partly because Kyle Mooney stops by at some point.
–The Simpsons: O C’mon All Ye Faithful (December 17 on Disney+) – Streaming-exclusive Christmas special.
-A Saturday Night Live Christmas (December 18 on NBC)
–Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Christmas (December 19 on CBS) – Nate’s a funny guy, so this might be funny too.

Music
-The National, Rome – First live album
-Saint Etienne, The Night
-Snoop Dogg, Missionary

Sports
-College Football Bowl Season (December 14-January 4 on Various Networks) – I’m most concerned about the Rate Bowl on December 26 between Rutgers and Kansas State.
-College Football Playoff (December 20-January 20 on ESPN, ABC, TNT, and Max) – I’m rooting for Indiana or Oregon.

Jeff’s Wacky SNL Review: Nate Bargatze/Coldplay

Jeff “jmunney” Malone watches every new episode of Saturday Night Live and then reviews all the sketches and segments according to a “wacky” theme.

Here we go again. The second episode of the 50th season of Saturday Night Live was indeed the 2nd episode of the fiftieth season. The guest lineup consisted of a couple of returning favorites. Coldplay, those lovable lads from London, provided the tunes for the 8th time, while Nate Bargatze was the host for the 2nd time. In fact, the 2nd time in 2 seasons!

Since this is the second episode, and it’s also Nate’s second time hosting, I’ll review each sketch by starting off with the phrase “Two cheers for.”

Jeff’s Wacky SNL Review?: Nate Bargatze/Foo Fighters

You’re not gonna believe this (unless you already know): Nate Bargatze hosted SNL. (He was surprised as we were.) He’s a stand-up comedian whose name I recognize, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in anything before this. I kind of remember him releasing a well-liked Netflix special a few years ago.

On the other end of the familiarity spectrum, the musical guest was one of the most frequent ever, with Foo Fighters making their ninth appearance (and their first since Taylor Hawkins’ passing, RIP).

Since I’m in an inquisitive mood, I’ve decided to review each of this episode’s sketches with a question.
