Momoas for All! (CREDIT: NBC/Screenshot)

It’s time to review Jason Momoa’s second time hosting SNL! I know him better as “Jason Mimosa,” although I rarely imbibe that early in the morning. Tate McRae is the musical guest, and I think I’ve heard her name before, but I somehow hadn’t heard her tunes yet.

Anyway, since Thanksgiving is knocking on the door, I’m reviewing each sketch of this episode by declaring what I’m thankful for.

Joe Biden Press Conference: I’m thankful for fine puns like “How do I Panda Express this?”

Jason Momoa’s Monologue: I’m thankful for the necklace that Jason wore that looked like a banana.

Masters of the Pen: I’m thankful, in general, for banter.

Rome Song: I’m thankful for how obvious that baby in this sketch was a doll and not an actual baby.

Nightclub Line: I’m thankful for bluntness, in certain situations.

Hudson News Thanksgiving Week Airport Parade: I’m thankful that I don’t have to fly for Thanksgiving.

please don’t destroy: Ramen Order: I’m thankful for nonsensical references to previous SNL sketches.

Tate McRae, “greedy”: I’m thankful for benches, for when I need to relax.

Weekend Update: The Jokes: I’m thankful when Colin and Michael let a joke breathe.
Weekend Update: George Santos: I’m thankful for the times that Colin Jost has to read from the cue cars without any shame.
Weekend Update: Draymond Green: I’m thankful for Steve Kerr’s leadership.
Weekend Update: Remember Lizards: I’m thankful for references to clearing out wild animals.

Ex-Fiancee Cast Away: I’m thankful that towels are a part of modern society.

Tate McRae, “grave”: I’m thankful that search websites allow me to quickly identify songs that I’ve never heard before.

Untold: Battle of the Sexes: I’m thankful for subtle visual gags amidst extremity.

Cab Ride: I’m thankful for the simple pleasures of hearing Kenan Thompson react to things.

Emma Stone is hosting the next new episode (December 2, 2023). And honestly? I’m not surprised. It’s her 5th time! Noah Kahan will join her as the musical guest. I googled him, and I’m going to guess that his songs are very different from Tate McRae’s, even though they have the same number of letters in their names.
