Jeff “jmunney” Malone watches every new episode of Saturday Night Live and then reviews all the sketches and segments according to a “wacky” theme.

What’s up, brosephuses and sistras?! Wow, after 50 years of all that, they’re still going. That’s right, I’m talking about the Season 51 Premiere of Saturday Night Live.

The guest lineup is host Bad Bunny and musical guest Doja Cat, so there was really no way around it: I’m going to review each sketch animalistically. So that means I might give them 4 out of 5 Buffaloes, or I might say they’re Clucking like a Chicken. Let’s get into it!

Labor Day is typically known as the unofficial end of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, even though technically autumn doesn’t really arrive until the final third of September. Either way, it’s a time for altering routines and reflecting upon what you’ve been up to the past few months. In that spirit of looking back, we’ve got a couple of new releases for Labor Day Weekend 2025 that are both throwbacks in their own particular ways.

Congratulations to all those 50s out there! Yes, the rumors are true, Saturday Night Live has now fully and undeniably completed its 50th season. In the course of doing so, it featured a finale guest lineup of 7-time host Scarlett Johansson and three-time musical guest Bad Bunny. So in honor of ScarJo, I’ll be reviewing each sketch and segment by metrics of seven. So for example, I might convey a grade of “3 out of 5 Seven Deadly Sins.”

I’ve got a bad feeling about this…

I’ve also got a leporine feeling about this, which is to say: my SNL spidey sense is tingling over the fact that Bad Bunny has now completed his outing as both host and musical guest on the 2nd episode of the 49th season of Saturday Night Live.

I took copious notes while watching this episode on my DVR the following morning, and now I’m going to share all of those notes with you. Bon appetit!

Here’s something I’ve never done before: written a review of an SNL episode hosted by Regé-Jean Page with musical guest Bad Bunny. (How Bad is he?!) Here’s to new experiences!

I got up early on Sunday morning, enjoyed some heart-shaped Honey Nut Cheerios, visited the bathroom a few times, and got to watching the comedy.

If the real Britney Spears were to host a talk show, do you think it would go a little something like Oops, You Did It Again (Grade: “Oops”? Or Maybe It Was on Purpose?). For the purposes of the people who wrote this week’s cold opening, the answer is “Yes.” Much of this sketch was more stuck in the muckety-muck than it was ha-ha, but Pete Davidson as Andrew Cuomo was just plain-old counterintuitively inspired.
