Hello, world! It’s time to share my quick thoughts about the movies I’ve seen recently that haven’t gotten the full review treatment. First up is Fall, in which a couple of daredevil ladies climb up to the top of a 2000-foot tower but then their ladder falls down. (My palms are sweaty just typing that!) Let’s normalize loving white-knuckle thrillers like this one. It’s absolutely the sort of movie I need in my life right now, as I can feel safe that I won’t fall asleep during it.

As for Spin Me Round, Alison Brie goes to Italy for a culinary immersion program, and the genre of this movie seems to keep changing every single scene. In a good way! Have you ever felt like you didn’t know what genre of life you were living? That’s what this movie is like.

Orphan: First Kill had me bemoaning the sorry state of various facilities’ security protocols. It’s also like the documentary The Imposter, what with the younger (but not that young) Esther pretending to be a missing American child. Anyway, you might think it would be impossible for a prequel like this one to be surprising, but then Julia Stiles walks in with a gun, and BOOM, we’re off to the races.

Grades:
Fall: Standing Up to Cheer!
Spin Me Round: Spinning Some Gold and a Little Silver
Orphan: First: Kill: More Like First Kills!
