Welcome to January! (CREDIT: Universal Pictures)

They keep making new movies, and some of them are even worth watching. Here’s what’s at the top of the slate for January 2023:

M3GAN: A robot doll with killer dance moves becomes a killer best friend for a recently orphaned little girl named Cady. Her aunt is played by Allison Williams, who of course established her horror bona fides with Get Out. Would M3GAN have also voted for Obama a third time if she had the chance?

M3GAN is due in theaters January 6.

Missing: One of those screenlife flicks in which all (or at least a good chunk) of the action takes place on laptops, phones, tablets, and such. This time around, Storm Reid plays June, who’s trying to track down her missing mother (Nia Long). Mom’s new boyfriend is played by Ken Leung, who knows a thing or two about being lost.

Missing can be found in theaters January 20.

Infinity Pool: The latest from director Brandon Cronenberg, who really impressed with his 2020 brain-melter Possessor. I’m not even going to bother mentioning the synopsis, because I’m guessing that the whole thing is going to be vague and vibe-y anyway. Alexander Skarsgård and Mia Goth topline the cast.

Infinity Pool hits theaters on January 27.
